Third Act

Directed by Tadashi Nakamura

Runtime: 91 minutes

THIRD ACT is a deep dive into the life and work of pioneering photographer and filmmaker Robert A. Nakamura, made by his son Tadashi Nakamura. On its surface, the documentary is a biopic that explores the elder filmmaker's public role as "the Godfather of Asian American film,โ€ including one of the pioneering works exploring the Japanese American internment camps in WW2. But with his diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, the film's undercurrent poses a question thatโ€™s at once personal and universal: how can a father and son say goodbye?

The Last Resort

Directed by Sarita Khurana

Runtime: 12 minutes

In the first-ever Indian retirement complex in the U.S, a tight-knit group of Indian immigrants forge a resilient community, navigating family tensions, cultural longing and the realities of growing old together. Told through the lives of several residents, this is a story of the first generation of Indian immigrants growing old in America.
