Notice: This Screening is Now SOLD OUT

This screening is now sold out. The In-Person Opening Night ticket (film + celebration) is no longer available.

However, we will be opening a rush line for anyone who wants to try for a seat. If you're hoping to catch the film, we encourage you to come early. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and we'll do our best to get as many people in as possible. Any unfilled seats will be released to the rush line 5 minutes before showtime. Please note that a spot in the rush line does not guarantee entry, and this applies to passholders as well.

Still want to celebrate with us? Opening Night Celebration only tickets are still available. Join us for the party even if you can't catch the screening.

Opening Night Film: Spring After Spring, with Bridging Our Stories

Co-presented by InterIM Community Development Association and Vancouver Asian Film Festival.

Opening night at Wing Luke Museum will feature two films.

Spring After Spring

Directed by Jon Chiang

Runtime: 73 minutes

After their mother’s death, three sisters reunite to lead Vancouver’s Chinatown Parade, forced to choose between honoring their past and letting it go.

Bridging our Stories

Directed by Rafael Bitanga

Runtime: 24 minutes

When the last Filipino community center in Ketchikan, Alaska, becomes a memory, a 50-year-old Filipina who spent her life resisting her heritage travels to the Philippines to rediscover her roots, preserving her community’s disappearing culture, and teaching indigenous Filipino dances.

This is a story beyond one culture; it is about the struggle of immigrants to maintain their identity in the U.S., played out on the last frontier.

Opening Night Celebration

After the screening, the party begins.

Join us for an after-hours celebration inside the Wing Luke Museum. Explore the museum's galleries on the culture, art, and history of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, then stay for a night of music and community hosted by Seattle drag artist Viper Fengz, with live performance by Japanese and Laotian indie pop/R&B artist Slone and DJ sets from DJ Magic Sean.
